Questions people ask
Do I need planning permission?
It depends on the project. Many single-storey extensions, garden walls and fences are permitted development and need no application, but limits apply and some areas are excluded. Use our free planning checker for a first answer — we confirm it before work starts.
Do I need Building Regulations approval?
Yes for extensions, structural alterations, new homes and conversions — even when planning permission is not needed. Building Control inspects the work and signs it off at the end.
Who sorts out the permissions and paperwork?
We tell you exactly what your job needs — planning, Building Regulations, party wall notices, surveys — and handle it before work starts, so nothing is left to chance.
How do you price a job?
We start with a free site visit, or from your photos and videos, then give you a written, itemised quote showing what is included and what is not.
What about my neighbours?
If work affects a shared wall or digs near a neighbour's foundations, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 requires written notice — normally two months for wall work and one month for excavation.
Who does the gas and electrical work?
Gas work is done only by Gas Safe registered engineers, and electrical work only by qualified electricians.
Where do you work?
Across the UK. Tell us the site postcode when you ask for a quote.
