DemolitionFull demolition
Complete demolition of houses, garages and commercial buildings.
We take buildings down safely and leave the site ready for what comes next.
Every demolition starts with a survey and a plan: what the building is made of, what is connected to it, and how it will come down without risk to people or neighbours.
What's included
- Pre-demolition surveys and planning
- Disconnection of services arranged with the providers
- Controlled demolition
- Segregation and recycling of materials
- Site left level and clear
Good to know
- Before demolition, a refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey is required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Most asbestos removal must be done by an HSE-licensed contractor.
- In most cases the local council must be given notice at least six weeks before demolition starts (section 80 of the Building Act 1984).
- Some demolitions need prior approval from the council, and buildings in conservation areas or listed buildings need consent — we check this first.

Questions people ask
Do I need permission to demolish a building?
Often not a full planning application, but in most cases the council must be told at least six weeks before (section 80 of the Building Act 1984), and many demolitions need the council's prior-approval check first. Listed buildings and larger buildings in conservation areas need consent. Our free planning checker gives a first answer.
What about asbestos?
Before demolition, a refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey is required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Most asbestos found must be removed by an HSE-licensed contractor before demolition goes ahead.
What happens to the waste?
Materials are separated so more can be recycled, and every load is taken by a registered waste carrier with waste transfer notes you can keep.
Who disconnects the gas, electricity and water?
The utility providers do — we arrange the disconnections before any demolition starts.
Can you demolish just part of a building?
Yes. Partial demolition is done to a structural engineer's sequence, with temporary support where needed, so the rest of the building stays safe.
Where do you work?
Across the UK. Tell us the site postcode when you ask for a quote.
